I started playing the cello when I was 8 years old and have loved it ever since! In high school, I was a member of the world renowned Portland Youth Philharmonic. I kept studying cello at Brigham Young University where I earned a degree in Cello Performance. There I was assistant principal cellist in the chamber orchestra and got to travel the world studying and performing in places like Vienna, Venice, and Budapest.
My first experiences teaching were in high school, and since then I taught new beginners after school, advanced college courses, and even an elementary school music class. I lived in Medford in 2019 where I played with the Rogue Valley Symphony. In January 2021 we moved to the Portland area where I teach virtual lessons.
"Christina is a very knowledgeable and fun string teacher. She is a great motivator, and teaches her students not only great technique but also to play with emotion. She has excelled at cello performance in her college studies, and continues to improve her skills by choosing challenging pieces to study herself. She is very trustworthy, a great leader, and always seems to be happy. Her enthusiasm spreads to her students."
